He was known for his curiosity for learning, special talent for languages, effective use of time, and the motto “No excuses,” which set high standards of excellence for himself. In this video, Rabbi Yakkov Trump pays tribute to Staff Sergeant Tomer Barak, a courageous 20-year-old Golani soldier who bravely confronted terrorist infiltrators on October 7th. Remembered for his sharp wit and steadfast commitment, Tomer lived by the principle of 'no excuses,' facing danger head-on to defend his brothers and sisters in Israel. His story invites us to reflect on the teachings of Rabbi Gamliel, who reminds us of the importance of rising to the moment in times of crisis and always striving to give our best—even in the most challenging circumstances.
