Staff Sgt. Hallel Solomon z'l - "Don’t stop because you’re tired. Stop because you’ve succeeded."

Hallel, son of Ronit and Mordechai, and brother to Yasmin, Hila, Vered, and Shaked Tzuriya, served as the lead "Negev" gunner in the Tzabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade. He was known for his kindness, humility, and endless generosity. Affectionately called "the peacemaker", Hallel had a unique ability to bring people together and create harmony wherever he went. On October 7th, he courageously went into battle, driven by his deep love for his homeland and its citizens, which he was determined to protect. He fell in Gaza alongside ten of his comrades when their armored personnel carrier was struck by an anti-tank missile. He was 20 years old.

In this insightful video, a poignant message emerges about resilience and perseverance in today’s challenging times. Rabbi Peretz Segal reflects on the emotional struggles facing today’s youth and draws inspiration from Staff Sergeant Halal Solomon’s powerful words: “Don’t stop when you’re tired. Stop when you’ve succeeded.” This legacy reminds us of the strength within each of us, encouraging a collective resolve to overcome adversity and pursue our goals with determination.

Hallel was clearly a very special human being. It is very hard to be a peacemaker and a real mitzvah to increase shalom in the world. I love his פתגם: don't stop when you're tired; stop when you've succeeded. It is an inspirational and aspirational message which I will share with my grandchildren. זכרונו לברכה
