Gal, son of Tali and Nir, brother to Raz and Mika, served as a platoon sergeant in the Tzabar Battalion, Givati Brigade. He had broad general knowledge, a special interest in sports, and was an avid Hapoel Tel Aviv fan. He had a unique bond with his grandfather and, despite the challenge, took him to games. Known for his warm, melting smile and noble spirit, he did everything quietly, without many words. Giving and a desire to help characterized him. He led his soldiers in battle with great courage, inner calm, and swept everyone up with his determination and professionalism. He was a beloved commander who led and influenced with humility. He was 21.

In this moving reflection, Rabbi Daniel Rowe honors the legacy of Gal Mishaelof z"l through a powerful lesson on the true essence of leadership and humility. Drawing from the depth of Torah wisdom, Rabbi Rowe challenges modern misconceptions by revealing that real leadership is not rooted in ego or power, but in responsibility and service. Gal embodied the courage to lead and the humility to learn, showing us that greatness comes from putting God, others, and a higher purpose at the center of our lives. His life and sacrifice al kiddush Hashem, as Rabbi Rowe explains, remind us that humility is the foundation of lasting leadership, an enduring call to live with purpose, selflessness, and strength.
