Staff Sgt. Eyal Mimran z'l - "Always with a smile."

Eyal, son of Esther and Ilan, and brother to Daniel, grew up and was educated in Nes Ziona, where he graduated from a theater and communications program. He was a joyful young man who loved life, enjoyed sports, reading books, and cooking. He enlisted in the Paratroopers Brigade and served as a combat medic in the 101st Battalion. During the months of combat, he kept a journal from Gaza and wrote short stories he intended to publish in a book. He fell in battle in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of Gaza during an operation to clear and secure the area. He was 20 years old when he fell.

I loved reading about Eyal, ז״ל. In his all-too-short life he was obviously already a developed human being, understanding what is important to living well. You can see not only his lovely smile, but sensitivity and awareness that life is also difficult. May his memory be for a blessing, and may everyone who reads this take this lesson of smiling from the outside-in to heart.
