Staff Sgt. Dolev Amoyal z'l - Featuring Rabbi Elazar Muskin, Young Israel of Century City

"One who accustoms himself to joy will never fall to sadness."

Dolev, eldest son of Yael and Yaniv, brother to Or, grew up in Netanya and served as a frontline machine gunner (Negev) in B Company “Silent Wolves,” 13th Battalion, Golani Brigade. He was known for his winning smile with two dimples, his kind heart to everyone he met, and his joyful spirit. On October 7th, after hearing from friends at Nahal Oz that terrorists had overrun the base, he insisted on joining them in battle. He was killed by a missile while volunteering to help rescue wounded from the Paga outpost. The message he left behind was posted to his status three days before he fell. He was 21 years old.

In this heartfelt tribute, Rabbi Elazar Muskin shares the story of Staff Sergeant Dolev Amoyal, who tragically lost his life at just 21 years old from a Hamas rocket attack. In his final moments, Dolev expressed his love to family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of positivity, reflected in his memorable WhatsApp status that radiated joy. His story is woven together with a powerful biblical message about the dangers of jealousy and the pursuit of genuine happiness, emphasizing the importance of taking ownership and striving for personal growth. Dolev’s enduring spirit of joy and gratitude continues to inspire all who hear his story.
