Sgt. Major Aviv Baram z'l - "He loves everyone."

Aviv, eldest son of Chanita and Ofer, brother to Ori, husband to Heli and father to Omer and Rani. He grew up in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, was a member of the kibbutz emergency squad. He worked for “Syncopa” sound and lighting, also as a technical producer with singers Ivri Lider and Hanan Ben Ari. A devoted family man and loving father, he loved hosting friends and naturally brought people from different circles together. On October 7th, he was wounded defending the kibbutz and died that day from his injuries. His last words, “He loves everyone,” were his farewell to his family. He was 33 years old when he fell.

In this heartfelt video, we remember Sergeant Major Aviv Baram, who heroically gave his life defending Kibbutz Kfar Aza from Hamas terrorists. In his final moments, Aviv displayed profound selflessness, urging his comrades to seek safety while he took the risk himself. His actions embody the mitzvah of “Ve'ahavta l're'acha kamocha” — loving your fellow as yourself. This tribute honors Aviv’s enduring legacy of love for his family, friends, and community, and reminds us of the importance of recognizing and helping those in need. Join us in reflecting on his life and the powerful lessons of compassion and courage he leaves behind.

Aviv will always be a hero to the residents of Kfar Aza, and to כלל ישראל. What a special human being and what a beautiful legacy. I hope his family derives comfort in knowing how important he was to others, and how selfless, and how much he loved them.
