Sgt. Guy Bazak z'l - Featuring Rabbi Chaim Albert, Head of School, The Jewish Academy

"Don’t go where the path leads - go where there is no path and leave a trail."

Guy, son of Carmit and Yuval, brother to Tamar and Adi, was born in Paris, raised in Kochav Yair, and served in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. A gifted child with a keen sense of humor and adventurous spirit, on October 7th, when an incursion was reported at Kissufim, he went into battle without hesitation. He was the first to fire, deterring the terrorists and disrupting their plans. He fought for three hours outnumbered, evacuated a wounded comrade under fire, until he was fatally wounded in the heart. He was 19 years old when he fell.

In this inspiring testimony, Rabbi Chaim Albert shares the journey of establishing a unique Jewish school in Florida against all odds. Through determination and vision, obstacles were transformed into opportunities, leading to the growth of a thriving educational institution that now welcomes hundreds of students. This story emphasizes the importance of blazing new trails and following one’s passion, echoing the words of Sergeant Guy Bazak.
