Sgt. First Class Hillel Diener z'l - Featuring Rebbetzin Dr. Yael Muscat - Director, University Counseling Center YU

Hillel, son of Teresa and Ron, brother to Tzuria, Elyashiv, Renana, Naveh, Noga, and Maor. Married to Zehava. Grew up in Talmon and served in the reserves with the Kfir Brigade. He believed every person is made of many parts and found a way to love each one as they are. He felt a strong sense of mission in life and in his military service, putting his whole heart into everything. He deeply loved Torah, the people, and the land. On return from an anti-terror mission in Beit Hanoun, an explosive device was detonated. Hillel was killed in the blast. He was 21 years old when he fell.

Sergeant First Class Hillel Diener left a lasting legacy, embodying both complexity and wholeness in his character. Remembered for his deep love for Israel, his leadership, and his devotion to family, Hillel’s life serves as a powerful reminder of the beauty in embracing our multifaceted identities. In a Sukkot reflection, Rebbetzin Dr. Yael Muskat highlighted the importance of accepting both joy and vulnerability, honoring Hillel’s belief that every individual contributes uniquely to the world.
