Idan, eldest son of Alex and Ravit, brother to Ariel and Yehli, grew up in Rishon LeZion. He served as the senior communications officer (Kashra”g) in the 13th Battalion, Golani Brigade. He loved playing soccer, video games, and hanging out with friends. A dedicated officer, he constantly raised the bar for himself and was deeply caring toward his soldiers – leading them with humility and camaraderie. On October 7th, he managed the heroic defense of the Nahal Oz outpost, directing Zik drones that neutralized terrorists and working until the last moment to gain strategic advantage for his unit. He was 21 years old when he fell.

In this heartfelt tribute, Rabbi Leiby Burnham honors Idan Bloy, a communications officer who gave his life for Israel. He highlights the crucial role of communication in both battle and daily life, drawing parallels between divine creation and human connection.
