Capt. Alon Scagio z'l - "Smile, be good people, give of yourselves to our country, and live without regrets."

Alon, the son of Doria and Erwin from Hadera, and brother to Amit and Ariel, served as a sniper team commander in the Haruv Reconnaissance Unit. In a farewell message found on his phone after his death, he wrote heartfelt parting words to each of his family members and friends. During a battle in Jenin, under fire, he rescued a wounded paramedic and evacuated his fellow soldiers, returning to the danger zone three times. He was killed by a second explosive device, standing at the site of the previous blast and absorbing the force with his body, thereby saving others. He was 22 years old when he fell.
